Chamber Music Series - Valentine's Strings: Salut d'Amour

SoundWaves continues its newest cabaret series, with Valentine's Strings: Salut d'Amour, an elegant evening of our outstanding HHSO string members performing romantic musical favorites such as La vie en Rose, Cinema Paradiso, Por Una Cabeza, and At Last, all arranged for string quartet. The program includes selections from Nina Rota's 1968 richly romantic film score to Romeo and Juliet as well as delightful light classical string quartet confection "Nocturne", Alexander Borodin's emotionally beautiful string quartet movement, widely attributed to be a love letter to his wife. Of course, the evening's courtship would not be complete without our quartet arrangement of the program's title, Edward Elgar's love greeting "Salut d'Amour".

What is SoundWaves Chamber Music Series? SoundWaves Chamber Music Series is a new set of dinner and concert evenings highlighted by music written or arranged for small ensemble performed for an exclusive audience in the warm intimacy of SoundWaves. Curated by HHSO concertmaster, Micah Gangwer, each of this season's three concert events is preceded by a locally catered dinner comprised of a complimentary beverage, three meal options, and dessert, complete with availability of a cash bar of wine, beer, and soft drinks.
