Jogging on the beach…
One of the joys of living near, or visiting, the ocean is being able to easily, and daily, enjoy its assets…the beach, the water, the seafood, and the tranquility of the gently rolling surf. One of the ways that I like to get out and enjoy our great seashore is by jogging in the evenings after work along the beach.

During your next visit to Hilton Head Island, take an afternoon off from the beach or the river and explore downtown Bluffton. Five Stand-Out Holes Among Hilton Head Island’s Golf Greats
It’s painfully difficult to pick just five par-5 holes in the area where nearly every course is a must-play, but one has to start somewhere on Hilton Head Island and nearby Bluffton.
I tossed in a couple no-brainers, but also asked a couple golf experts for their picks–the head golf pro at the Country Club of Hilton Head, plus a rabid golfer who gleefully travels here every year.
Inside the new harbour town clubhouse
With the help of many, The Sea Pines Resort transformed the legendary Harbour Town Clubhouse into an iconic landmark. In this case “new” really is just better. The 1969-vintage Harbour Town Golf Links Clubhouse was wonderful in its time, and still fine for most of us when visiting Hilton Head Island’s premier golf venue. But the new clubhouse, built on the same footprint, but with a third level and all the amenities for today’s golfer and vacationer, is waaaaay better, even though one of its primary goals was to preserve the traditions of old-style southern living. I could write for weeks on the gorgeous new $26-million facility, but truly, these pictures are worth more than a thousand words each, and have made the clubhouse Hilton Head’s newest great tourist attraction. And in a feat of Herculean proportions, it was finished between the end of last year’s RBC Heritage and this year’s.
